Recently, the 2026 Reading Jiangsu themed practical activity, titled "Smart Manufacturing in Qixia · Knowledge and Practice in China," was held at NJUIT. The event was guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, hosted by Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and jointly organized by Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing University of Industry Technology, Taizhou University, and the People's Government of Qixia District, Nanjing. Faculty members from participating universities and one hundred international students from 20 countries visited NJUIT for innovation and technology training tours and intangible cultural heritage purple clay pottery workshops, gaining an immersive experience of modern vocational education and the charm of traditional Chinese handicrafts.
The study tour group first visited the Youth Career Experience and Innovation Center on campus, where exhibits on intelligent manufacturing, 3D printing, VR and artificial intelligence, and green and low-carbon training equipment were displayed in sequence. The international students frequently paused to observe, actively operated the training equipment with their own hands, and gained a close-up, direct understanding of Jiangsu's advanced manufacturing achievements. The atmosphere of on-site questions and exchanges was lively.
The group then moved to the purple clay pottery experience space at the LSBU-NJUIT Joint Institute for a hands-on intangible cultural heritage course. Several master ceramic artists from Yixing provided on-site instruction, offering step-by-step demonstrations on the characteristics of purple clay materials, vessel shaping, clay painting, ceramic engraving, and handmade teapot crafting. The international students personally kneaded and shaped the clay, carved and decorated their works, and through hands-on creation, appreciated the Eastern craftsmanship embodied in this intangible cultural heritage. They experienced firsthand the beauty of artisanal mastery in traditional purple clay pottery techniques, achieving an immersive integration of modern industrial technology and traditional Chinese handicrafts.
This study tour was organized through NJUIT's 2026 Jiangsu University International Student Education on China's National Conditions Social Practice Base platform, themed "Wisdom in Intangible Heritage, Craftsmanship in Splendor." It fully showcased the university's high-quality practical resources and distinctive international education. Through this walking classroom of practical learning, the international students gained an understanding of Jiangsu's smart manufacturing development and experienced the depth of traditional Chinese culture. Moving forward, NJUIT will continue to build bridges for exchanges between Chinese and international youth through various foreign-related practical activities, regularly organize study tours and experience programs, and help international students from all countries become friendly ambassadors for cultural and industrial exchanges between China and their home nations.
近日，由江苏省教育厅指导、南京邮电大学主办，南京财经大学、南京工业职业技术大学、泰州学院和栖霞区人民政府联合承办的2026年“悦读江苏”智造栖霞·知行华夏主题实践活动走进南京工业职业技术大学。各高校带队老师以及来自20个国家的百名来华留学生，在我校开展科创实训参观与紫砂非遗手工体验活动，沉浸式感受现代职业教育实力与中华传统手工艺魅力。
研学队伍首先来到学校青少年职业体验创新中心，展厅内智能制造展区、3D打印、VR人工智能、绿色低碳实训设备依次陈列。留学生们不时驻足观察，主动上手操作实训设备，近距离直观感受江苏先进制造业发展成果，现场提问交流氛围十分热烈。
随后，研学队伍移步伦敦南岸学院紫砂体验空间，开启非遗紫砂实操课程。来自宜兴市多位陶艺大师现场教学指导，从紫砂泥料特性、器物造型，到泥绘、陶刻、手工制壶等技艺分步示范。留学生亲手揉泥塑形、雕刻装饰，在亲手创作中体悟紫砂非遗蕴含的东方匠心，亲身感受传统紫砂非遗技艺的匠心之美，实现了现代工业技术与中华传统手工艺的沉浸式交融学习。
本次研学依托我校“智萃非遗 匠筑风华”2026年江苏高校来华留学生中国国情教育社会实践活动基地平台，充分展示我校优质实践资源与国际化办学特色。留学生在行走式实践课堂中，读懂江苏智造发展脉络，感受中华传统文化底蕴。下一步，学校将持续依托各类涉外实践活动搭建中外青年交流桥梁，常态化开展研学体验活动，助力各国留学生成为中外文化与产业交流的友好使者。
