On July 27, a delegation from the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), including Wang Hefei from Division I and Zhou Shan from Division II of the Center for Strategic Research on People-to-People Diplomacy, visited NJUIT for research and exchange. They were accompanied by Liu Fan, deputy director of the Americas and Oceania Affairs Division, and You Mengshuang, principal staff member, from the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. Sun Xiucheng, member of the Party Committee Standing Committee and vice president of the university, received the delegation and attended a symposium. Relevant officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the International Education College, and the London South Bank University-Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology Joint Institute also participated in the discussions.

Sun Xiucheng extended a warm welcome to the visitors. He introduced the university's history and its internationalization efforts. He noted that NJUIT carries forward the century-old vocational education legacy of Huang Yanpei, pursuing both "bringing in" and "going global" strategies. The university established the nation's first public vocational undergraduate institution for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools—the London South Bank University-Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology Joint Institute—and founded the first overseas applied technology university in Chinese vocational education, the Cambodia-China University of Technology and Science (CCUTeche). Guided by the principle of "Vocational Education Going Global, with Schools and Enterprises Together," NJUIT has developed vocational education partnerships in multiple countries across Europe and Central Asia, supporting the overseas development of Chinese enterprises. In terms of U.S. cooperation, the university took the lead in establishing the Jiangsu-U.S. Higher Vocational Education Cooperation Alliance, has hosted the "China-U.S. Vocational Education Presidents' Dialogue" on a continuing basis, and runs cooperative programs with American institutions. These efforts have earned a first prize in the National Teaching Achievement Awards. The university also conducts China-U.S. faculty and student exchanges through programs such as the "China-U.S. Youth Study Camp." Sun stated that NJUIT will use this research visit as an opportunity to strengthen communication with CPAFFC and the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, and to further expand cooperation in China-U.S. vocational education and youth cultural exchanges.

Wang Hefei introduced CPAFFC and its Center for Strategic Research on People-to-People Diplomacy. She fully recognized the achievements of NJUIT's internationalization work, noting that the purpose of this visit was to gain an in-depth understanding of the university's practices in China-U.S. vocational education cooperation, joint programs, and faculty and student exchanges, and to identify representative cases of exchanges with the United States that could inform further research and promote China-U.S. local and people-to-people friendly relations. Zhou Shan remarked that the visit revealed NJUIT's solid foundation in educational cooperation and exchange with the United States and its distinctive vocational education characteristics. Both sides will further examine project backgrounds, implementation mechanisms, and actual outcomes to support the development of representative research cases. Liu Fan introduced the work of the Americas and Oceania Affairs Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. He stated that the office has maintained a long-standing good cooperative relationship with NJUIT, and that the Americas and Oceania Affairs Division will continue to leverage its foreign affairs resources and channels to provide support in policy consultation, resource matching, and project coordination, jointly advancing local educational exchanges and people-to-people friendly relations between China and the United States.

During the meeting, both sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on practical challenges in exchanges with the United States and potential responses.
